Scouts trip to Switzerland

Once every 4 years the Scout Group tries to organise an international camp, so this year 7th Malden Scouts joined forces with 2nd Norbiton Scouts and Endeavour Explorer Scout unit on a 9 day trip to Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland.  In total there were 43 Scouts and 14 adults on the trip which had a budget of over £30,000.

The aim of the trip was to provide the Scouts with the chance to challenge themselves with adventurous activities whilst mixing throughout the week with other Scouts from all over the world (we were based at Kandersteg International Scout Centre which specialises in hosting exactly these kinds of camps).

The trip did not disappoint.  The camp site was packed with over 1,000 Scouts from the UK, Europe and further afield.

We’re going to Switzerland!

Once every 4 years the Scout Group commits to an international camp.  This time around we are going to the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland for a week of climbing, via ferrata, zip-wire, abseiling, summer sledding, white water rafting, hiking in the mountains and other activities.  A key part of the camp will be meeting other Scouts from around the world at the renowned Kandersteg International Scout Centre.

It’s a large undertaking costing over £30,000 to run, but it is worth it to create a lifetime memorable experience for our young people.

To be involved in the adventure, join 7th Malden Scouts, either as a young person or adult volunteer.

Recruiting now – Beavers, Cubs & Scouts

Almost without exception, Scout Groups in the New Malden are over-subscribed with long waiting lists.  An excellent sign of the popularity and relevance of Scouting for young people but frustrating if your son or daughter cannot join!

7th Malden Scout Group has partnered with other successful groups in the area drawing on their experienced leaders to re-launch its Beaver, Cub and Scout Sections.  So we are recruiting now!
